(AUSTRIA)To me, painting is like writing a diary. When I paint, I become one with the canvas, I do not feel lonely, I forget myself totally, I feel one with the universe. My feelings and my views of the world changed with the changing periods in my life. At different periods of my life I felt differently and saw the world with different eyes. I used to paint figuratively , like nature and people, but my voyages to China and Japan in the Fifties , learning and working with both Chinese artists and Japanese monks, as well as the philosophy of Buddhism influenced me very strongly and lastingly. It taught me to try to say everything with one stroke of the brush and to try to have the minimum of strokes.First, I used to work with Chinese ink on paper and later tried to work in the same and similar ways with oil on canvas and later with acrylic on canvas to express all I feel with minimum strokes.

DRUMMOND
(UNITED STATES)"Joy" is what I want to bring to people through my paintings."Joy" through the choice of colors, the theme, the life and movement I bring to the canvas with each stroke of my palette knife. When I complete a painting, my strongest wish is that those who see it will be drawn into it and want to be part of the happy atmosphere. If people feel good when they look at one of my pieces, if my paintings brighten their day in any way, then my mission as an artist is completely fulfilled.
